Dense fog on the morning of Friday, January 25, 2002 contributed to a massive motor vehicle collision on I-75 in Collier County. 3 people were killed and 13 were injured. The men who died were killed by blunt force trauma and were extricated from their autos. A total of 27 vehicles were involved, which included 17 tractor-trailer
trucks over a distance of a half mile. This was a mass casualty incident in our home state.
